Shine VR/NVR Clinic Part 3 and 4 of our 4-week Programme
Building on earlier foundations in Weeks 1 and 2, Weeks 3 and 4 of our VR/NVR Clinic are where students are stretched into confident, high-performing candidates. Using our proven Shine VR/NVR Framework, we move beyond basic familiarity to develop speed, precision, and advanced reasoning skills required for highly selective assessments, including ISEB Pre-Tests, Consortium exams, CEM-style exams, and school-based selection.
The course is fast-paced and intellectually demanding. Students work through a high volume of carefully selected questions, designed not only to build fluency but to expose them to the full width of question types seen across top London schools. Through this, they develop the ability to recognise patterns quickly, avoid common pitfalls, and maintain accuracy under timed pressure.
A key feature of the programme is the continual reinforcement of strategy. Rather than treating each question type in isolation, we teach students how to approach reasoning systematically, applying transferable techniques across multiple formats. This is what allows them to perform consistently, even when faced with less predictable or more complex papers.
Each course increases in difficulty and challenge, ensuring that students are continually stretched. Our July programme focuses in depth on spatial reasoning — including cube nets, punch hole and paper folding, and 3D block problems — areas that many students find particularly demanding, but which are frequently used to differentiate top candidates.
The August course builds on this foundation, introducing more complex and multi-step problems while also revisiting and consolidating core topics covered earlier in the summer. This combination of stretch and review is critical in helping students secure their understanding and perform confidently as exams approach.
