We have designed a 4-week programme for Year 5 students to thoroughly cover the key NVR topics and all the logic- and maths-related VR topics. Each week focuses on a different set of skills and topics, which are explored and taught in a systematic way, allowing students to build their understanding progressively throughout the programme.

The programme is structured as follows:

• Week 1: October 2026 & December 2026
• Week 2: Easter 2027
• Week 3: July 2027
• Week 4: August 2027

Week 1 is delivered twice, during both the October Half-Term and Christmas holidays, covering the same content on each occasion. This allows students to join the programme at either point and begin their VR/NVR journey with the same core foundations.

In Week 1, we will cover the following topics:

• Rotation
• Similarities
• Series (NVR Sequences)

Spatial

• 2D views of 3D shapes

VR

• Letter Sequences
• Letter and Word Codes
• Match Word Codes

Please note that, within our VR programme, we focus specifically on the quantitative and logic-based aspects of VR. Vocabulary and SPaG-related topics are not covered as part of this programme, as these skills are developed through our English term-based programme.
